Quarterback Tom Brady has set several NFL records, most of them during his 20-year career with the New England Patriots. Brady, 43, set more records in his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he signed a two-year, $50 million off-season contract. Brady added a few more points in Saturday’s 47-7 playoff victory for the Detroit Lions. He made 22 of 29 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns in the first half before abstaining for the entire second half. Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports reported that Brady’s performance was the second since 1991 where a player passed 340 yards, had four touchdowns and no interceptions in the half.

The first player to do so was Brady himself, who performed in week six of the 2009 season when the Patriots defeated the Tennessee Titans 59-0.

Tom Brady is the only player in the history of the NFL who has played more than 20 seasons with one team (the Patriots) and then made the playoffs with another
team. Brady is also the first player in NFL history to reach the play-offs 12 times in a row (TEN S. Gostkowski was able to join them in 2020).

Brady is the first player to make 12 consecutive play-off appearances

The Buccaneers lead to their first play-off appearance since 2007, Brady became the first player in NFL history to make a post-season appearance in 12 consecutive seasons, entering his 300th regular-season game. In addition, the NFL investigation report indicates that Brady is the only player in NFL history to have spent 20 seasons on one team and then made the playoffs with another team.

Brady also finished with a perfect pass score of 153.8, the third in his career. He now joins the Hall of Famers against Peyton Manning on the list of players with a perfect ranking (three).

Brady has 2 perfect matches against the Lions

According to Ryan Ford of the Detroit Free Press, Brady had his two perfect matches against the Lions.

Brady recorded his first perfect match against the Lions in a 45-24 Thanksgiving Day victory over Detroit in 2010. In this game Brady scored 21 for 27 for 341 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. Earlier, Brady set a new franchise record for most touchdown passes in a season of 35, erasing last year’s record of Jameis Winston throwing 33 touchdown passes.

However, Winston also became the first quarterback in NFL history to score more than 30 touchdowns and 30 steals that season.

Brady praises his teammates

After the win Brady congratulated his teammates on their excellent performance against the Lions, especially in the first period when they took a 34-0 lead at halftime. We played well in the first half today, said Brady, who hooked up deputy Blaine Gabbert in the second half and scored two more touchdowns. It was just a great achievement by the whole team. I’m just glad we all won. It’s great to be at 10-5, Brady added, according to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com. Next season the Buccaneers will compete against the Atlanta Falcons in the regular season finale.
