Space policy is a rare example of an area where President Joe Biden shared the views of his predecessor Donald Trump, said White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

At a White House press conference on 30. In March, it was noted that Biden is pursuing three of Trump’s initiatives – the U.S. Space Force, the revival of the National Space Council and NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to land the first woman and man on the moon by 2024. Psaki was asked if space policy is an area where the Biden administration rarely agrees with Trump.

Psaki replied: I think – that sounds about right. A transcript of the entire press briefing is available at whitehouse.gov/briefingroom.

United States Space Force

Professor Wendy Whitman Cobb of the U.S. Air Force School of Air and Space Studies complains in an article on TheConversation.com that most people don’t take the new military industry seriously. Modern pop culture that portrays the Space Force as a joke distracts from the serious responsibilities the USSF carries out, she said in an article published by Astronomy Magazine.

According to her, public perception of the Space Force is heavily influenced by science fiction, which actually has little to do with this new branch of the military. For more information, visit Spaceforce.mil.

Science fiction often has an inspiring and positive relationship with space activities. But America’s new space power is struggling with a pop culture PR problem. https://t.co/oubkuZEtps.

National Space Council

During a press conference, Psaki said Biden wants to keep the National Space Council. She said Biden believes the council provides an opportunity to develop national space policy strategies and synchronize America’s space activities in an era of unprecedented activity.

The Council has a website at space.commerce.gov.

The U.S. Department of Commerce operates the site. A statement on the website explains that while the Secretary of Commerce is a member of the Council, the Council itself is not part of the Department of Commerce.

Biden’s decision to maintain the council was applauded by the Deep Space Research Coalition, an organization of companies and universities.

The organization said on Twitter that space travel is a top priority for America. He added that sustained coordination among multiple federal agencies through the National Space Council would enable the United States to effectively address existing and emerging space issues.

NASA Artemis Program

NASA’s Artemis program aims to send the United States back to the moon. According to a statement on the program’s website, a woman and a man, along with many advanced technologies, are expected to land on the moon by 2024.
