It is often very difficult to rank the best players of all time. It is even more difficult to separate the best players in their respective positions to form the best Goat Teams. But we were able to highlight the top 5 in NBA history, consisting of the top 25 players.
After completing the standard 5-man line-up, consisting of 2 players in the backyard and 3 players in the forecourt, it was time to see how the Goat Teams were set up. Here are the 5 best goat teams in the standings, starting with the 5th place.
PG – John Stockton
Career statistics : 13.1 PPG, 2.7 PPG, 10.5 PPG, 2.2 PPG, 0.2 BPG.
John Stockton may not have won an NBA title, but he may be the biggest player in the history of the NBA. With Stockton at the forefront, Utah Jazz never missed the playoffs, and that’s a direct correlation. Stockton leads all players in the majority of the registrations and is tied for first place in the flights. His passing, shooting and defending has made Utah Jazz an annual contender for the title, and his association with Karl Malone has been one of the best ever. Unfortunately, they faced Michael Jordan twice in the final, but unlike that, Stockton is easily the scapegoat for the 5th seed.
SG – Jerry West
Career statistics : 27.0 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 6.7 APG, 2.6 SPG, 0.7 BPG
(via Sports Illustrated)
Jerry West, the NBA logo, is one of the 5 greatest shooters of all time. The Lakers legend and one of the West’s all-time leading scorers has averaged 27.0 PPGs on 47.4 percent of the field over the course of his career. He was clearly a sharpshooter of the highest calibre and one of the best guards we’ve ever seen. Jerry West may have reached 1-9 in the NBA finals in his otherwise brilliant career, he was incredibly dominant, and if he had had a slightly better team, he could have been part of a stronger GOAT team.
SF – John Havlicek
Career statistics : 20.8 PPG, 6.3 PPG, 4.8 PPG, 1.2 PPG, 0.3 BPG.
Celtic legend John Havlicek had one of the greatest careers in the history of the NBA. After winning 8 NBA titles, Havlicek was named MVP in the final in 1974 and formed an incredible 13 All-Star teams. The Russian vanguard has been a member of the NBA defence team 11 times and a member of the defence team 8 times. The Boston Celtics have been incredibly talented over the years, but Havlicek is one of the top choices and is part of the fifth team in the GOAT.
PF – Kevin Garnett
Career statistics : 17.8 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1.3 SPG, 1.4 BPG
Kevin Garnett, Big Ticket, was the embodiment of intensity and leadership every time he set foot on the ground. Few or no players had KG’s passion and intensity, but he was also a very talented and skilled player on the field. KG was a former MVP, defensive player of the year and NBA champion who achieved everything in the NBA, both individually and as a team. Garnett is in the top 5 of the vanguard because of his defensive leadership and his ability to score in his prime. Kevin Garnett and Hakeem Olajuwon form an excellent front for the 5th Team Goats.
C – Hakeem Olajuwon
Career statistics : £21.8, £11.1, £2.5, £1.7, £3.1.
Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon had some of the best posthits in NBA history and was one of the best two-way players in the game. He won two consecutive NBA championships with the Houston Rockets, who lead both offensive and defensive. Hakeem has an average of 21.8 PPGs and 11.1 RPGs in his career, has won 2 Defensive Player of the Year awards and has been on 12 all-star teams. No player had Hakeem’s feet, which is why the NBA players still train with the Rockets legend today.
Preparation team 4
PG – Oscar Robertson
Career statistics : 25.7 PPG, 7.5 PPG, 9.5 PPG, 1.1 PPG, 0.1 BPG.
Oscar Robertson, before Russell Westbrook was normal, was the very first king of the triple. His figures were exceptional, with an average of 25.7 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 9.5 APG over his career. Robertson has influenced the game in every possible way, and many of his colleagues consider him to be the best player of all time. Especially after winning an NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks, Robertson emerged as one of the top five point counters. The duo of Oscar Robertson and Allen Iverson is enough to get more than enough game and points in the backyard for the HORSE of 4.
SG – Allen Iverson
Career statistics : 26.7 PPG, 3.7 PPG, 6.2 PPG, 2.2 PPG, 0.2 BPG
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images
Allen Iverson, known as The Answer, is one of the most iconic superstars of all time. Although he did not win an NBA title, he led the Philadelphia 76ers to the 2002 NBA finals with veteran Dikembe Mutombo as best teammate. Iverson is one of the top scorers and probably the best little man who ever played the game. Despite his short stature and thinness, Iverson was incredibly fast and perhaps the best dribbler of all time, which sometimes left him exposed.
SF – Elgin Baylor
Career statistics : 27.4 PPG, 13.5 RPG, 4.3 APG
Elgin Baylor is often underestimated for his dominance in the prime of life. Baylor did his best in basketball, even though it wasn’t enough to win the NBA championship. Elgin Baylor was absolutely invincible offensive and was one of the best rebounders in his position. If Baylor manages to catch a few NBA rings, we could be talking about the undisputed top 10 of all time. Nevertheless, it easily belongs to the group of 4. Goat team.
PF – Dirk Nowitzki
Career statistics : 20.7 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Dirk Nowitzki, perhaps the best shooter in history, won the NBA title and became the MVP of the final after leading the Mavericks to the Miami Heat super team in the 2011 season. In addition to his incredible championship run, Dirk Nowitzki was a pure marksman and one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. Dirk is easily a top 50 player and a legend that has opened new avenues for today’s NBA players. Dirk’s one-legged fadeaway is one of the most unstoppable games in the history of the NBA and has undoubtedly knocked down many defenders throughout his career.
C – Bill Russell
Career statistics : £15.1, £22.5, £4.3.
Bill Russell is the biggest winner in the history of the NBA, with 11 rings in his last 12 appearances. Bill Russell is perhaps the greatest defensive player of all time. He made a name for himself as a defensive linebacker for an outside defender. If defensive statistics such as blocks and flights were recorded at the time, Russell would probably have several records to his name, along with Wilt Chamberlain. Russell’s participation in the 11 NBA championships for the Boston Celtics earned him a small spot in the fourth round of the GOAT team.
Preparation team 3
PG – Isaiah Thomas
Career statistics : 19.2 PPG, 3.6 PPG, 9.3 PPG, 1.9 PPG, 0.3 BPG.
(via SI Vault – Sports Illustrated)
One of the greatest pure contenders of all time, Isiah Thomas, is one of the most complete leaders in the history of the NBA. A player loved and respected by all his peers and the players who succeeded him, Thomas was able to lead the Pistons to successive championships in the NBA seasons 1989 and 1990. Thomas is a member of the Hall of Famer and one of the 50 biggest players of all time, although he is a bit smaller. When it comes to finding players on Mount Rushmore, Thomas is one of the top three players because of his ability to win games and lead his team at both ends of the track.
SG – Dwyane Wade
Career statistics : 22.0 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 5.4 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Dwyane Wade is the third best shot in history, and by far the third best in his career. He set what is arguably the best final of the 2006 season, defeating the Dallas Mavericks led by Dirk Nowitzki. Wade won the MVP final this year and has a total of 3 rings. Wade is also the all-time top scorer and a complete player with no real weaknesses. Wade did everything for basketball and retired as the greatest Miami Heat player of all time.
SF – Kevin Durant
Career statistics : 27.0 PPG, 7.1 PPG, 4.1 PPG, 2.2 PPG, 0.2 BPG.
Say what you want about Kevin Durant who took the easy way to win 2 NBA championships, he’s undoubtedly one of the top scorers of the game. Even if he was without a ring, Reaper Slim would probably be considered part of the 3rd team. The goat selection remains. Durant’s size and shooting ability have made him one of the most dominant superstars of the NBA in modern times. His 4 top scorer titles match his record, as do 2 NBA titles and 2 MVP titles in the finals.
PF – Charles Barkley
Career statistics : 22.1 PPG, 11.7 PPG, 3.9 PPG, 1.5 PPG, 0.8 PPG.
Charles Barkley was a very dominant force in the prime of his life, with the ability to be the best player in a championship team in the prime of his life. Barkley was a rebound superstar despite a small staff. Barkley was arguably the most dominant player of the 1990s, and the only negative point is that he never won an NBA title in his career. Yet Chuck forms a totally unstoppable inner presence alongside Wilt Stilt Chamberlain.
C – Wil Chamberlain
Career statistics : £30.1, £22.9, £4.4.
Wilt Chamberlain, the man with the most records in the NBA, is the linchpin for the GOAT 2 team. It’s not surprising to see Wilt Chamberlain, given the records this guy broke, like. B. Scoring 100 points in a game or catching 50 rebounds in a game, among many other records. Nobody has the statistical tables like Wilt Chamberlain, who dominated the 1960s and early 1970s as a top employee of the union.
Preparation team 2
PG – Stephen Curry
Career statistics : 23.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 6.6 APG, 1.7 SPG, 0.2 BPG
Apart from the frequency it is difficult not to include Stephen Curry in the GOAT 2 team. Curry is the youngest of all the great game makers who has honored the game of basketball, and he has changed the NBA’s game for the foreseeable future with his shots and dribbling. Stephen Curry is simply unbeatable in today’s game, and his lightning fast shot is easy to hit. He’s also the best shooter we’ve ever seen, double MVP and triple NBA champion. As far as we know, few players have changed the game on their own, and Curry is one of them.
SG – Kobe Bryant
Career statistics : 25.0 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.4 SPG, 0.5 BPG
(via Sports Illustrated)
Kobe Bryant is solid and forever the second best shooter of all time. An exceptionally talented scorer, Kobe was the Michael Jordan of the current generation of players. He won 5 NBA titles with the Lakers, stayed with a reputable franchise throughout his career and consistently made a name for himself as one of the best shooting goalkeepers of all time. Kobe’s Mamba mentality is one of the most hypnotic personalities we have ever seen in professional sports. Bryant has devoted his entire life to dominating the game of basketball, and we are all very grateful to him for that. 5 NBA titles, 2 MVPs in the finals, 2 Olympic gold medals and 11 first round picks. The honor of the All-NBA team makes him the second best shooter in history, and he’s not nearly as good.
SF – Larry Bird
Career statistics : 24.3 PPG, 10.0 PPG, 6.3 PPG, 1.7 PPG, 0.8 BPG
Credit : Getty Images
Larry Bird was lucky to have basketball skills, a killer instinct and an extraordinary charisma. Larry Legend was known for his dominance in the field and for his rude words, which he always seemed to support. Byrd was probably the only player, except Michael Jordan, who talked about what he was going to do on the field, and he went on the field every time. 3 MVP’s and 3 NBA championships make him the easiest addition to a GOAT 2 team.
PF – Karl Malone
Career statistics : 25.0 PPG, 10.1 PPG, 3.6 PPG, 1.4 PPG, 0.8 BPG.
Photo Credits : GEORGE FREY/AFP via Getty Images
Karl Malone is perhaps the most unstoppable attacker of all time, as no player has been able to score like him in this position. He is currently the second highest scorer in the history of the NBA (36,928) and his career spans almost two decades. Malone has an average of 25.0 PPGs per game with his range of mediums and indoor players and is probably the unluckiest player who has ever had an NBA ring. Apart from Tim Duncan, no striker has dominated the offensive position better than the postman, and he is easy to include in the GOAT 2 team.
C – O’Neal Shaquille
Career statistics : 23.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 2.5 APG, 0.6 SPG, 2.3 BPG
Credit : Getty Images
Shaquille O’Neal is perhaps the most dominant NBA player of all time. He was over five feet tall and weighed over 300 pounds, so he was just unbeatable on the shelf. Shaq has won 3 consecutive MVP finals and was also part of 15 All-Star teams during his illustrious career. Shaq is arguably the most dominant runner in history from 2000 to 2003, and his partnership with Kobe Bryant in GOAT Squad 2 is very suitable because they have led the entire NBA for at least 4 consecutive seasons. O’Neil completes the formidable front line with Karl Malone, who is talented enough to make a legitimate name for himself on the GOAT 1 team.
Preparation team 1
PG – Magic Johnson
Career statistics : 19.5 PPG, 7.2 PPG, 11.2 PPG, 1.9 PPG, 0.4 BPG.
There is no doubt that this is the greatest general in the history of the NBA. Magic Johnson revolutionized basketball by being an extra wide player who can play any position on the field. No player in history has ever led the Magic and his IQ in basketball was off the charts. Magic Johnson was a magician with the ball in his hands and was the best player in the history of the NBA during the short break. In Team 1 of the GOAT Squad Magic plays together with other greats of all times and makes the decisions.
SG – Michael Jordan
Career statistics : £30.1, £6.2, £5.3, £2.3, £0.8
Credit : Getty Images
In a competition historically filled with fantastic talent as a marksman, Michael Jordan is the greatest in history. He is the most famous superstar and NBA legend of the competition, and the only almost unreal athlete we have ever seen. Top 10 NBA Top Scorers, 6 NBA titles, the last 6 MVP’s and the Defensive Player of the Year awards have put Jordan way ahead of any player we’ve ever seen. Michael Jordan was the face of the league and is still the most iconic and famous player in the world. Jordan is also recognized as the best player of all time, so he has settled comfortably in the GOAT 1 team.
SF – LeBron James
Career statistics : 27.1 PPG, 7.4 PPG, 1.6 PPG, 0.8 BPG.
There’s no doubt anymore that LeBron James is the biggest little striker we’ve ever seen. While many old heads prefer Larry Bird, LeBron has been great for too long and can’t be more respectful. James is 4-time NBA Champion, 4-time MVP of the finals and 4-time MVP. His grades and rewards speak for themselves, and he will make the GOAT 1 team easy, where his playing skills and leadership will be indispensable.
PF – Tim Duncan
Career statistics : 19.0 PPG, 10.8 PPG, 3.0 PPG, 0.7 PPG, 2.2 BPG.
Without a doubt Tim Duncan is the greatest attacking force because of his success on the field. He was the best defender in that position and was mainly responsible for picking up 5 NBA rings with the San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan is widely regarded as one of the top 10 players in history, and his impact on the game has been enormous despite his relatively pedestrian style. Every time Tim Duncan is on the team, the team gets a strong defensive boost and chances to score on the post. With his patented overboard shot, Duncan was a real force in his position and formed the best front in history with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
C – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Career statistics : 24.6 PPG, 11.2 PPG, 3.6 PPG, 0.9 PPG, 2.6 BPG
Photo : Andrew D. Bernstein/NVAE via Getty Images
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is widely regarded as the most talented and best centre of all time. He has the highest records, has won at every level and has made the most unstoppable move in the history of basketball with the skyhook. Kareem also made 19 All-Star teams, 15 NBA teams, 11 All-Defensive teams, 6 MVP’s and 6 NBA titles. Not to mention the fact that Kareem is the top player with 38,387 points and can influence the game for two decades. He is working with Tim Duncan to form the best NBA duo of all time.
