The HC cowboys, Mike McCarthy.

Mike McCarthy won’t have a one-on-one with the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys head coach Stephen Jones announced Monday that McCarthy would return as head coach in 2021, citing unprecedented circumstances that will essentially ruin the season.

With Coach McCarthy, there will be absolutely no change. I’m surprised someone would question these unprecedented situations in which everyone finds themselves, Jones told 105.3 fans. Also, no one apologizes, but we’ve had some problems in the injury category. If you look at his success story and his pedigree, he has won year after year. We’re confident this ship will be back on its feet soon. Mike will be the leader of this group. He’s obviously a great head coach. I think we’ll see how it goes. He has accomplished much and will accomplish much more before all this is said and done.

As changes approach, but

Jones’ statement matches that of Ian Rapoport, of the NFL network, who died Sunday morning on the eve of his 14th birthday. Weekly victory in Dallas, reported McCarthy was safe from the line of fire. And his interns aren’t. And there will be a scapegoat.

As far as I know, Mike McCarthy is safe talking to sources within the organization. But, as one source said, something has to change, Rapoport said. Keep an eye on the defensive side of the ball – especially the defensive coordinator, Mike Nolan. They have almost the same players as in 2018. It was good protection. That’s the last point. Something has to change.

Rapoport himself, of course, repeated the recent comments of Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the cowboy, who admitted that he wanted to reinstate the defense.

I say you, like everyone else, have a lot to do, and I want to start with how we approach our defense this year, Jones said last Friday at 105.3 The Fan. I want to start over. I’m sure everyone else is.

I’m going to start this (first) day (of training camp) right away, he continued. Moreover, unfortunately they all (acted) with the same thing. … I really want to make sure that if we make changes, I want to make sure we do the same thing we did when we attacked. Because we thought we didn’t have time to make these changes, and they’re really effective. It’s obvious we’ve done something, we’ve changed. And it’s hard for us to use them as a good defense.

McCarthy was getting ready to let Nolan go?

That’s what it looks like. Maybe he’s just following orders from above, but McCarthy seems to have speculated honestly about his decision to use his old friend Nolan as Dallas’ defense chief in low season, replacing a pair of Rod Marinelli-Cris Richard.

I don’t think our staff at all is where we should be. And it’s ultimately my responsibility, McCarthy said last Friday to 105.3 fans. We’re going through things for the first time, like all freshmen. There is not much continuity between the coaches because most of us have never worked together before. And when we talk about development, it’s not just about the actors. You develop a program, a system. The coordination of things that have been here in the past. They have a training center that has been together for a long time. But we don’t do things the way they’ve been done for the past 20 years. They’re trying to coordinate it and put it all together. This is part of the structure of a programme. The same applies at all stages, especially for management staff.

On Sunday, Nolan’s unit probably got its best results in the 2020 campaign by making three turns and scoring points on Aldon Smith Fumble – back six times. But it’s probably too little, too late, because cowboys are always the last in points allowed and start the defense, alongside other statistical claims.
