This article will explore the four teams that have a high probability of making it to the NFL playoffs next season after missing out this year. The team is listed in alphabetical order by division.
The “nfl playoffs schedule” is a list of the 4 teams that are most likely to reach the NFL Playoffs next season after missing out this year.
After a wild and weird Week 18, the NFL Playoffs are here. The additional week of games lived up to the expectations, with one of the wildest games ever coming down to the closing seconds between the Chargers of Los Angeles and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The playoff field has been established, and numerous teams are sitting on their couches, pondering what could have been. As we prepare for the postseason tournament, it’s time to take a look at a couple teams who didn’t make the cut but should be back next year.
Ravens of Baltimore
The bad news is that the Ravens finished last for just the second time in the AFC North’s 20-year existence.
Good news: Since division realignment in 2002, at least one team has gone from last to first in every season except two (2014 & 2019). The Bengals pulled off that feat in 2021.

This is self-evident. The Ravens started out well, going 6-2, but completed the season with an 8-9 record, including six consecutive defeats.
Lamar Jackson only appeared in 12 games this season, and although Tyler Huntley filled in well at times, Baltimore’s chances were harmed by a slew of ailments. Here are a few players that were unable to participate for Baltimore this season due to injuries:
- Dobbins, J.K.
- Marcus Peters is a professional football player who plays for the
- Edwards, Gus
- Washington, Ar’Darius
- Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Humphrey, Marlon Humphre
- Alaka Otaro
- Marshall, Iman
- Hill, Justice
- Ricard Patrick
- Elliott, DeShon
The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Before the first game of the season, Dobbins, Edwards, and Peters all tore their ACLs, leaving John Harbaugh’s squad in a huge hole. The Ravens were able to find success with a revolving door of Le’Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman, and Latavius Murray at running back, with Freeman benefiting the most.
Mark Andrews had a breakout year and surpassed 1,000 yards for the first time, while Marquise Brown also did so. The defense has components, and Jackson, Dobbins, Brown, and Andrews are all back on offense.
Sure, there are concerns, but even a somewhat healthy Ravens squad would have reached the playoffs this season.
Broncos, Denver
Yes, the Broncos struggled under Vic Fangio’s leadership. However, given this personnel, the successor for Fangio should be more than capable of fielding a playoff club.
Javonte Williams and Jerry Jeudy are two of the offense’s many elements. The secondary is led by Justin Simmons and Patrick Surtain II, and the defense is loaded with talent.
The only thing that’s lacking is… A quarterback, to be precise.
Is it going to be Aaron Rodgers? Or will the Broncos go for Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson?
In any case, the Broncos will be a playoff team next season and a scary club for everyone in the NFL if they get a quality head coach and even an average quarterback.

The Chargers will be kicking themselves all offseason if they don’t make the NFL playoffs. The Raiders’ defeat will be talked about for a long time, mostly because of Brandon Staley’s controversial overtime timeout.
Nonetheless, this club has so much potential that missing the playoffs will be difficult. Justin Herbert had a monster season, Austin Ekeler had a breakout year, while Mike Williams and Keenan Allen both eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark.
Next season, Joey Bosa and Derwin James Jr. will be back, and the Chargers will have plenty of contract flexibility to spend in free agency. The Chargers will reach the playoffs — and possibly challenge for a Super Bowl — if they add some defensive skill, trench depth, and another year of Herbert in the offense.
The New Orleans Saints are a professional football team based in New
The Saints are one of the NFC teams on this list. The NFC is highly top-heavy as a whole. After then, it’s at best debatable.
The Saints would be in the playoffs if it weren’t for the San Francisco 49ers’ shock of the Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately for Sean Payton’s club, Jimmy Garoppolo guided the 49ers to win.
The quarterback position is up for grabs, but reinstating Jameis Winston as the starting makes too much sense. Furthermore, Fresh Orleans should be in the playoffs if they can add a few of new faces to their wide receiver group.
Ask Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about the defense’s tenacity.
New Orleans has reason to be optimistic, and the summer will be crucial for this team.
Just didn’t make the cut
Strange as it may seem, it is true…
The Colts, who were eliminated from the playoffs, played 562 minutes with a lead this season, more than the Packers (521) or Titans (490).
That’s insane.

Browns of Cleveland
This squad isn’t going anywhere until Baker Mayfield takes a major stride forward. Because Mayfield didn’t do himself any favors this past season, the Browns must carefully consider the quarterback position’s future.
The Indianapolis Colts are a professional football team based in Indianapolis
Carson Wentz had a good game, a bad game, and an average game. But which version of him will be given to the Colts? Moreover, despite Jonathan Taylor’s MVP-caliber season, a season-ending defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars denied them a position. The Colts must also consider the quarterback situation carefully.
Vikings (Minnesota)
Mike Zimmer is no longer with the team, but Kirk Cousins remains. The Vikings might be back in the NFL playoffs next season if they make a big splash for the next head coach.
