This Halloween, the world of R L Stein expands into Disney+ with the all-new series Just Beyond, a collection of tales inspired by the Goosebumps author’s work, who has been frightening kids in books and short fiction for decades. The new series is based on the Just Beyond comic books, which feature Stein’s inventions, and Disney+ has unveiled a new poster for the program ahead of its October 13th debut.

Although there have been some earlier pictures published, the primary aim of the poster seems to be to gather all of the otherworldly aspects in one spot and lay the groundwork for what is sure to be another smash among the adolescent horror options this Halloween. Following a popular, though now antiquated, Goosebumps TV series from the 1990s, the Jack Black Goosebumps movie and its sequel, and Netflix’s current Fear Street three-part event, writer Seth Grahame-Smith expressed his enthusiasm last year to be bringing another portion of Stein’s work to the screen.

When the project was revealed, Grahame-Smith stated, “I grew up watching Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents.” “I’ve always wanted to create a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and I’ve always wanted to do it in a manner that would appeal to both children and adults. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of children’s lives, and Disney+ has already shown that it can produce high-quality programs for the whole family. I’m really looking forward to working with both of them.”

Christine Ko, Malcolm Barrett, Sally Pressman, Cedric Joe, Riki Lindhome, Tim Heidecker, Gabriel Bateman, Cyrus Arnold, Arjun Athalye, Jack Gore, Logan Gray, Elisha Henig, Rachel Marsh, Jy Prishkulnik, Megan Stott, Henry Thomas, and Izabela Vidovic are among the cast members of the series.

Stein himself seems to be pleased with the new adaptation of his work, and it appears that nothing pleases him more than seeing his works leave the page and into other media. In the statement, Stine added, “Back in the day, we had a Goosebumps HorrorLand attraction at Walt Disney World.” “It was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. Now I’m ecstatic to be working with Disney again on a TV show based on my comic books. Writing Just Beyond for BOOM! Studios has been a pleasure from the start, and I’m thrilled that the series will be brought to life on Disney+ by the talented screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith. How fortunate am I?”

Just Beyond is one of the many Halloween offerings recently announced for Disney+, which include new content like the Muppets Haunted Mansion special and LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, as well as classic spooky films like Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankieweenie, and more, all of which will be available between now and the middle of October. The last new series to debut is Just Beyond, which will premiere on October 13th.
