The Toronto Raptors have the chance to achieve their first win of the young season against the New York Knicks on Thursday.

Nix versus Raptors Preview
The Toronto Raptors didn’t have a perfect start to the season and lost their first three games, the last against Philadelphia 100-93. The Raptors led in the first half, but were only able to score 37 points in the second half.
The Raptors were one of the worst offensive teams in the league, with only 102 points per game, putting them in 29th place. But veteran Kyle Lowry thinks the Raptors should forge an identity.
I’ll be honest, I think we should be a real defensive monster, he said to the reporters. That’s what I want us to be. I don’t want us to be such insulting jugglers. I want us to be a defensive team where every possession, every night, the team that comes in knows it’s a coin and they’re minted, they’re minted. They won’t be walking around for nothing. It’s the only thing I wish we were.
With the season shortened, Lowry knows the Raptors desperately need help.

Randle thanked the new head coach Tom Thibodeau for establishing and changing the culture within the team.
I think Tibs has done a great job since we started training the camp with his system of how we want to play, Randle said. We don’t have to guess where we’ll be on the ground. We have big holes, and if the defense collapses, I can count on everyone to cut in the right interval or play a simple game. We all try to make a simple game, a real game, and play selflessly for each other.
