The Norwegian Championship XI starts and is replaced by T-shirts with the words Human Rights on and off the field shortly before kickoff.

Norwegian players wore a T-shirt about human rights on and off the field before their 2022 World Cup qualifier against Gibraltar to show their support for migrant workers in Qatar.

Captain Martin Odegaard said before the game that the players wanted to do something to show their feelings.

The players also wore Respect shirts on and off the field during warm-ups in Marbella.

The World Cup starts on the 21st. November next year in Qatar.

Norway won its first tournament in Group G 3-0.

Last month, a Guardianexternal link report stated that 6,500 migrant workers had died since the 2010 World Cup in Qatar.

The country defeated rivals the United States, Australia, South Korea and Japan, who had come to the tournament with hundreds of thousands of construction workers from abroad.

Qatar is building seven new stadiums for the tournament, which has been moved to the winter to avoid the extreme summer heat in the country.

Erling Bride Haaland and his Norwegian teammates wore jerseys for the match against Gibraltar.
