After the death of Robin Williams, the world was changed. In the days after his passing, there was a lot of talk about where we go from here, how to cope, and what we could do to ensure that no other celebrity would be forced to exit this world in such a dramatic fashion. One thing that came up again and again was the importance of digital media in keeping us connected.

As the fall TV season gears up to kick off, it’s time to start thinking about the new series we’ll be watching. There’s always a lot of buzz around new shows, and the fall season is no different. But now is a good time to take a step back and look at which shows have caught our attention. With a few months until it debuts, a lot of the fall TV season’s offerings are still far from official, but there are a few shows that have already been announced that we’re excited for.  In this series, we’re looking at five notable TV shows we’re excited for this fall season, and why.

Each week we bring you a recap and review of the latest episode of Quest for the Stanley Cup, the NHL playoff series that airs exclusively on ESPN+ in the United States.

This week we dive into the third episode titled And Then There Were Four.

Best Scene

These NHL series always work best when they take us into the internal conversations on the ice around controversial games. The New York Islanders-Tampa Bay Lightning game featured two such controversies in Game 2 of the series, and the coverage was pretty blatant.

Brayden Point received a cross-check from an Islanders defender on goalie Semyon Varlamov and was given a roughing penalty for goaltender interference. You see referee Dan O’Rourke make a bad decision and then you make the argument from the match organisation, that there are two better goalkeepers and you want to protect those guys, and I don’t think that’s a good play.

Afterwards, the officiating team did not notice that the Lightning had seven (!) players on the ice when they scored their second goal of the game. We’ll see how Barry Trotz goes out of his way on the bench.

Best Newcomer

The birth of Jordan and Blake Coleman’s daughter Carson after Game 1 became one of our favorite stories of the postseason. This episode recounts his play day, accompanied by lots of photos of the adorable newborn. A piece of information we haven’t heard yet: Lightning arranged a police escort for Coleman to get him to the hospital in time.

Best calls

Coleman got into an altercation with Matej Barzal of the Islanders and exchanged a cross-check when Coleman called him out: Do you want to go? If they come back to the bank. If you want to give me the cross, let’s go. Why not? Why not? I shake Barzee. I’ll leave you like a little boy. Little boy, Coleman said. (Good thing her newborn is a girl, I guess).

I don’t know how QUEST FOR THE STANLEY CUP continues to find those fans at the games, but it’s art (even if it’s not proportional). @TBLightning pic.twitter.com/xAFa79rw4i

To be fair, this gentleman has shaved too much of the Stanley Cup off his chest, sacrificing the length of the trophy. But you tell him yourself.

Trend of best score

We see Vegas Golden Knights coach Pete DeBoer complain to the referee about the behavior of Brendan Gallagher and Corey Perry after the final whistle, and the Montreal bench gets a warning that they will be penalized for it. During the Lightning vs. Islanders hear both coaches warning their players about the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties handed out by the referees after the whistle.

Tampa readers, what are your thoughts on this case? pic.twitter.com/IcCOLFz02P

These floating tiki bars are located in the canals of Tampa. Here, their one dip in the darkness was used as a metaphor for the Lightning’s loss in Game 1 against the Islanders. Real Terrence Malick level photos, people.

Episode MVP

Doggos! So yes, in this case, it is the most valuable puppy.

We meet the adorable dogs of Pat Maroon, Lightning’s striker, who has two French bulldogs. While hot and tired, they also like to catch lizards. It’s beautiful.

We also met Knights forward Alex Tuch and his adorable puppy Teddy, who refused to chase a toy in the pool, but was more than happy to compliment the camera. We should also mention that Tuch’s time with Teddy also gave him the opportunity to talk about how difficult this season is for players’ mental health – and why it has helped Tuch to have a furry canine friend at home who is always happy to see him.

Constructive criticism

No. It was a great episode from start to finish, with a balance of action on the ice and hockey players who are like us! and things off the ice. There were also several dogs.

The question remains after considering

Who’s the sexiest: A guy standing in the heat of Vegas wearing a metal helmet, or a mascot from the Golden Knights ?
