On Tuesday night, Tim Anderson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 4-3 victory in their game against the Seattle Mariners. The win also gave Anderson the longest walk-off home run in White Sox history, surpassing the record previously held by Carlos Quentin and Frank Thomas.

The Chicago White Sox have brought back the ghost of the 2015 “Field of Dreams” game, and it put the team one step closer to the AL Central title. Tim Anderson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the White Sox a 4-3 win over the Indians. This gives Chicago the division lead with two games left, and they are one game ahead of the Indians. If the Sox win out, they will head to the ALDS. The Sox have a chance to clinch the division on Tuesday with a win over the Indians.

In a game that was tied after nine innings, it seemed the White Sox were in for a tough night. Finally, the Sox came through in the 10th inning, with a walk-off home run from rookie Tim Anderson, after he belted a solo shot off of Mariners pitcher Andrew Moore.. DYERSVILLE, Iowa (KFVS) – Tim Anderson recently confessed that he had never seen “Field of Dreams.” Well, he’s just sent in a sequel screenplay that’s quite excellent.

Anderson blasted a two-run homer into the cornfield with one out in the ninth inning to finish the “Field of Dreams” game in dramatic fashion, as the Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees 9-8 in the inaugural Major League Baseball game in Iowa on Thursday night.

Anderson said, “The people came to see a performance, and we gave them a show.”

Anderson, who had an RBI double earlier in the game, blasted his 13th home run of the season on the first pitch from Zack Britton (0-1).

Anderson danced his way around the bases after the show-stopper of a hit, wiggled his hands near his neck, then wiggled his hands near his neck as he headed for home and his teammates’ jubilant dousing at the plate.

“Walking it off was certainly one of the greatest moments of my career,” Anderson said after leading the audience of 7,832 through the corn and back to their vehicles at the made-from-scratch stadium following a light-and-fireworks performance.

The Yankees’ Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton blasted two-run homers in the top of the ninth inning against All-Star reliever Liam Hendriks (7-2), turning the movie-themed retro event into a home run hitting contest into the cornfield.

Many players had expressed their excitement for this thrill before to the night. There were a total of eight long balls, two of which were thrown by Judge.

With Anderson’s game-winning shot, it had a Hollywood ending as well. What if it came from “The Natural” rather than “Field of Dreams”?

“He’s been our team’s lifeblood, the guy. What a visionary, “Acting White Sox manager Miguel Cairo, who took over for Tony La Russa, remarked

They were playing near the set of the famous 1989 film starring Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, Ray Liotta, and James Earl Jones, and even the Yankees fans who made the trip couldn’t have been happier with the experience.

Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney, who was tagged for seven runs in five innings in his second start with his new club, was having a difficult time thinking on the memories in the aftermath of the game.

Even though the Yankees finished fourth in the AL East and were in a battle for two wild-card places, they will remember this trip for the rest of their lives.

Manager Aaron Boone remarked, “That was as unique and beautiful a setting for a baseball game as I’ve ever been a part of.”

On this classic July night in farm country, Jose Abreu blasted the opening pitch into the sea of green stalks, and teammates Eloy Jimenez and Seby Zavala followed up with home runs for the White Sox in 1919-style jerseys.

To celebrate the film, Judge wore custom-painted cleats with cornstalks on the sides and the iconic phrase “If you build it, he will come” written on the tongues.

Lance Lynn, the league’s ERA leader, pitched five innings for the White Sox and remained undefeated in his past eight starts, despite a three-run homer by Aaron Judge and a single drive by Brett Gardner.

Costner made a star-like entrance, slowly stepping out of the cornrows, like Shoeless Joe Jackson and his ghost-like colleagues did in the movie, before turning to watch the players do the same for their made-for-TV pregame introductions. Costner’s speech to the audience included the usual question about the movie’s iconic phrase, “Is this heaven?”

No, it’s not Iowa, but MLB is coming back in 2022, as commissioner Rob Manfred promised, with clubs to be decided.

“I wish we had a little more time here to really soak it all in,” Gardner said, “but the season goes at a breakneck pace.”

FIRST AND FOREMOST, THE FAMILY

La Russa was unable to play since he was in Florida for his sister’s husband’s funeral. With his crew dressed in antique attire, the 76-year-old La Russa would have fit in in at the location.

“I was taught to appreciate the game’s heritage, and I believe we lose portions of it much too frequently,” he remarked earlier this week. “‘Field of Dreams’ is a fantastic film that captures everything about family and the game.”

GRAHAM, IT’S NOT QUITE MOONLIGHT.

The Yankees selected outfielder Estevan Florial while the White Sox summoned outfielder Danny Mendick since both clubs were permitted a 27th player on the roster. Florial was the closest a player could get to Moonlight Graham, who played in just one big league game with the New York Giants in 1905, went on to become a doctor in Minnesota, and played a key part in the film’s storyline. Florial, who is 23 years old, has had 28 plate appearances with the Yankees this season.
