The L.A. Times is reporting that a man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after telling his girlfriend that she was “too fat” to sit with him at a baseball game. The Times reports that Carlos Correa, who was attending the 5/2 Dodgers vs. Padres game with his girlfriend, Camilla Lopez, became upset with her when she sat down in the seat next to him, which made Correa have to scoot closer to his friend. The argument escalated when Correa told Lopez that she was “too wide” to sit next to him, at which point Lopez called Correa “disrespectful” and filed a complaint with stadium security.

The Los Angeles area is a big place, and it’s home to a lot of small business. SoCal News has been doing a series of interviews with local business owners to bring you an inside look at how these businesses operate. This week we sat down with Malik Rola, owner of Rola Pizza, a small Los Angeles pizzeria that has become a local favorite. “I’m no business expert, I just have a lot of love for pizza,” he told us. “That’s why I want to make sure everything is perfect, from the crust to the toppings. If I went with just the basics, I wouldn’t be able to do that.”

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a technological breakthrough in the treatment of major depression. Although the exact cause of depression is unknown, it is known that depression is characterized by an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain and decreased activity in the frontal lobes of the brain. TMS, approved by the FDA in October 2008, is a non-invasive, non-systemic treatment that uses magnetic resonance imaging pulses to stimulate areas of the brain known to be underactive in depression.

Southern California TMS was one of the first TMS providers after receiving FDA approval and is now the leading provider of TMS therapy in the country. SoCal TMS emphasizes compassion, excellence in treatment, and putting the needs of our patients first. With TMS specialists, case management experts, and medical director Dr. Todd Hutton, an internationally recognized leader in the field, SoCal TMS provides you with the highest level of care. Horse Therapy!

Horses are known to help people with various mental illnesses.  Because horses are predators, they have been shown to be more sensitive to environmental activities and people’s emotional states than dogs and other animals commonly used in assistive therapy.

Sunset Ranch Hollywood also believes in the calming effects of horses, as well as the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities in Griffith Park. Your experienced guides can take you on a one- or two-hour tour of Griffith Park in the afternoon or at sunset, with views of the Hollywood sign and panoramic views of the city all the way to Catalina. Visit SunsetRanchHollywood.com to schedule a tour!
