According to Sport1, Chelsea striker Timo Werner has been considered as a potential acquisition by Bayern Munich.
Werner joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020, and in his first season at Stamford Bridge, he won the Champions League. Despite finishing the season as Chelsea’s top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions, the Germany international has found his position in the first squad under threat since Romelu Lukaku’s arrival.
Bayern have been discussing Werner as a possible signing since Julien Nagelsmann, Werner’s former Leipzig manager, took over at the Bundesliga champions this summer, according to Sport1. Bayern, on the other hand, would struggle to match Chelsea’s €15 million annual salary for the 25-year-old.

12.30 BST: Ajax director of football Marc Overmars says he has no intentions to return to previous club Arsenal.
Overmars, a former Arsenal winger, has been mentioned as a possible successor for Edu, who has been chastised for Arsenal’s transfer activity this summer.

10.42 BST: According to ESPN’s James Olley, Chelsea are likely to renew their interest in Jules Kounde in the January transfer window provided Sevilla reduce their desired transfer price down to approximately €50 million, where the two clubs nearly reached an agreement this summer.
According to ESPN, Kounde is keen on a transfer to Stamford Bridge, and the 22-year-old is said to have agreed to a four- or five-year deal structure.
Chelsea are still interested in reaching a deal, but they are unwilling to pay Kounde’s €80 million buyout clause. They will return in January if there are indications that Sevilla is ready to restart talks at the lower price.
